For doctors who meet the American Board's full eligibility requirements, the programme and examination form part of the pathway towards formal ABLM Board certification.

It is important to understand that completing the educational programme does not, by itself, confer Board certification.

For doctors who successfully satisfy the full certification requirements, the credential is DABLM - Diplomate of the American Board of Longevity Medicine.

Formal Board certification is distinct from enrolment on the educational programme. The detailed eligibility criteria are: a valid and current medical licence; minimum one year of clinical practice experience in Longevity Medicine; at least 25% of clinical practice dedicated to Longevity Medicine; submission of 20 Longevity Medicine cases from the previous 12 months; experience with relevant longevity-related diagnostic and therapeutic approaches; completion of the ABLM educational programme; and successful completion of the ABLM written examination.

Doctors can still undertake the educational programme to develop their knowledge even if they do not yet meet all of the clinical requirements for formal Board certification.

The ABLM is delivered online through a Learning Management System and can be completed on a self-paced basis. This gives doctors the flexibility to progress through the programme around existing clinical and professional commitments.

Assessment is by a 150-question multiple-choice written examination. There is no oral examination requirement.

Yes. The two diplomas pair deliberately. The ABLM gives you the understanding of longevity and prevention. The ABRM gives you the application of regenerative therapies in practice. Together they create a complete approach to modern clinical care. Combined enrolment is £5,500 (saving £500 versus enrolling separately).

Once you have made payment and submitted the required documentation, your application is sent to the Board for approval. Following Board approval, you are enrolled onto the programme and provided with login credentials and access to the course modules. As the Board charges an enrolment fee at this stage, the programme is no longer refundable from the point of enrolment and access.

The ABLM can provide the Longevity Medicine educational foundation from which doctors can begin developing their knowledge and clinical ideas more intelligently.

It does not, by itself, provide automatic authorisation to establish or deliver every service covered within the curriculum.

Individual diagnostic and therapeutic services may require additional training, competencies, facilities, professional indemnity, prescribing arrangements, governance systems and regulatory approval depending on the jurisdiction and nature of the service.
